The England youth worldwide scored Arsenal's equaliser in a 1-1 friendly draw against Atletico Madrid in Singapore on Thursday - with the LaLiga side going on to win the resulting penalty shoot-out 3-1.

After Luciano Vietto's opener for Atletico against the run of play, teenager Smith Rowe hit a dazzling equaliser - his first senior goal - in front of new boss Unai Emery as it finished 1-1 after normal time.

Gazidis has been at Arsenal since January 2009 and played a pivotal role in reshaping the club, most notably by overseeing the departure of Arsène Wenger as manager and the installation of a team around him that includes Raul Sanllehi as head of football relations, Sven Mislintat as head of recruitment and Emery as head coach.

The Gunners opened the game in typical manner, maintaining a clear domination of the ball that led to the first chance on 22 minutes, Jan Oblak reacting quickly to Alexandre Lacazette's snapshot at the near-post.

The game petered out and went straight to a shootout, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles scoring from the spot for Arsenal, while Rodri, Victor Mollejo and Adan were successful for Atletico.

"He has a lot of experience, which will be good for the group and the team, and his incorporation has always been positive". "Very young kids, but we have been working with them these days to integrate them into a group which has been working together for seven years, with a very strong defensive structure".

The Spaniard said: 'Aaron is an important player for us, and the contract is one thing for the club and the player. If they work hard, prepare well, they can take these opportunities.

"I am very happy with the work of the lads", Simeone said. Arsenal will start their Premier Campaign against the Manchester City at the Emirate Stadium and the following week the Gunners will take a trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea. 17-year old Emile Smith Rowe scored this super sliding goal with his right foot, putting it in the top corner.
