"I'll let you know when they're outside, you should be hearing the sirens real soon", the 911 operator says to Lovato's female friend who placed the call.

Demi Lovato was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday following a suspected drug overdose.

TMZ had initially reported Lovato's medical emergency as an "apparent heroin overdose", citing police sources, but anonymous sources close to the singer have continued to deny the alleged heroin use.

"You're with the patient now?" the dispatcher asks. She captioned the video; "got you on my mind..."

'Narcan is like an EpiPen to someone in anaphylactic shock - it gives you this insane burst of energy, ' an insider told People.

The new information comes amid another report that indicates the pop star's team recently attempted to stage an intervention, but Demi rejected their help.

"Wait, no sirens, please, right?"

"I don't have control over that", the dispatcher said.

The operator answers: "No this is a medical emergency".

Later in the 911 call, a male caller tells the dispatcher, "We heard the sirens. It is a windy street getting up here". It's also not confirmed if she will enter rehab to treat her addiction.

A representative issued a statement on their behalf which read: "Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support".

The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer had been sober for six years at the start of this year, but revealed last month through a song entitled "Sober" that she had broken that sobriety.

"Demi feels like she has let a lot of people down, including herself, but she's confident she won't let her addiction win, she will come out on top". She previously went to rehab in after battling "depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harming impulses, and a troubled relationship with her body" and "self-medicating with alcohol, cocaine, and OxyContin" (via American Way).
