Who has the better free agent pitch team?

Leonard has reportedly expressed his interest to join the Los Angeles Lakers, be it by trade this offseason or via free agency a year from now. There have also been reports that suggested that this may require the inclusion of restricted free agent Julius Randle in a sign-and-trade.

Lakers president Magic Johnson has a hard decision to make in trading for Kawhi Leonard.

The San Antonio Spurs are "fully engaged" in trade talks for All-Star small forward Kawhi Leonard, namely with the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. National Basketball Association free agency is almost upon us, and already it appears to be a game of musical chairs with nobody willing to be the one left standing up.

George opted out of his contract with Oklahoma City on Thursday and James has until Friday to decide if he'll stay with the Cavaliers.

It now seems that the Spurs have been left with little choice but to accept this and soften their stance.

They'd also need scoring off the bench, and there are several free agents who would jump at an opportunity to have this kind of prominent role on a team like the Lakers.

The major players are LeBron James and Paul George, but Kawhi Leonard has entered the mix as well.

What the Spurs do from here on out is anyone's guess, but they are handling the end of the Leonard situation with aplomb. The former team is San Antonio's oldest and most hated rival in the league, and the latter team has no assets that appeal to the Spurs. L.A. should be able to offer incoming players plenty of minutes, especially if the front office moves young talent like Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and/or Josh Hart in a trade for Leonard.

The Lakers of course aren't the only team that would love to land James. What if the Lakers then can't get any free agents next summer?

The Lakers would love to bring Leonard in this summer, and are feeling some pressure to do so before July 1, according to ESPN.

Any trade for Leonard would likely require a huge haul.
