Sixers trade 39th pick in National Basketball Association draft to Lakers

On Thursday, fansite Lakers Nation noted that the Lakers had accumulated yet another second-round pick, 39th overall from Philadelphia.

"I remember getting up at 3 a.m., watching the games", Wagner said.

Depending on how hard general manager Rob Pelinka wants to push the matter, he may be able to eventually break the San Antonio Spurs' resolve on Kawhi Leonard as well. Two teams routinely coming up in rumors are the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.

Pelinka did not want to address the talks, saying he wanted to respect other teams with which he has discussions. According to Keith Pompey of philly.com, the trade itself won't be official until June 6th, so the Sixers will be making the pick for the Lakers in the draft.

At this point, it remains uncertain what kind of role Wagner may play with the Lakers moving forward with so much that could change during National Basketball Association free agency next month.

LeBron James is reportedly zeroed in on signing either with the Cleveland Cavaliers or Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. The club should try to trade away at least two or three more picks. "I am going to love it and leave it all out there [for the Lakers]".

"Several things are happening", Smith said. "I am just going to give it all, my 100 percent every day".

Despite the fact they haven't reached the playoffs since 2013, the Lakers appear to be the most logical destination for James. The Lakers chose to go with upside on the offensive end with this selection. "That's just the way I'm built, and I know Magic's built the same way and Jeanie [Buss] ultimately, we don't compete to play games, we compete to win championships so there will be a sense of urgency until that's accomplished".
