According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are preparing to put in an offer for Belgium global Marouane Fellaini.

Unai Emery has spoken to Marouane Fellaini about leaving Manchester United to join Arsenal, according to reports.

That being said, Metro Sport - via Times - has quoted that Arsenal have already scheduled transfer talks with the midfielder, which is to be held on Wednesday.

The Belgium worldwide is out of contract at the end of June and would be able to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

AC Milan had also been in the running but the Serie A club have run into trouble with respect to Financial Fair Play and now face exclusion from European competition.

Before United's campaign had ended, Jose Mourinho was confident that Fellaini was close to signing an extension.

Furthermore, Italian media Calciomercato has claimed that Arsenal are set to meet Fellaini's agent in a hotel in the English capital to discuss a potential switch.

Arsenal will surely have to improve on Fellaini's contract worth £80,000-a-week, that he has turned down at United.

Fellaini has been selected in Belgium's World Cup squad and the Red Devils had hoped he would sign his extension before he travelled to Russian Federation for the World Cup.

The report states that new Gunners boss Unai Emery tried to sign Fellaini while at Paris Saint-Germain and is now in the market for a tall central midfield player.
