Neymar had been sidelined for over three months after fracturing his foot while playing for Paris Saint-Germain against Marseille in Ligue 1 on Feb 25.

Tite was left delighted on Sunday as Neymar made his return to football following a metatarsal injury, and the former Barcelona star exchanged shirts with a former rival in Luka Modric after the match ended.

Liverpool fans don't know how to feel about Philippe Coutinho's Anfield return.

Sidelined since February after undergoing foot surgery, the Paris Saint-Germain crack (the word often used in Spanish for unbelievable players) will get some precious minutes under his belt as he gears up for the tournament in Russian Federation.

But after the break, the Croatians began to defend deeper and allowed Brazil the space to begin to express themselves - a situation Neymar exploited to the full.

Neymar was introduced at the start of the second half for his first bit of action since sustaining an ankle injury in February.

"Neymar is only human, but he came back above my expectations too", Tite said.

"He came back better than I expected".

Brazil are now unbeaten in their last 10 matches going into their final World Cup warm-up game against Austria next weekend, whereas Croatia will take on Senegal on Friday in their last outing before the tournament gets underway.

Kenny Dalglish yesterday encouraged fans not to boo their ex-hero, who played more than 200 games for the Reds.

Brazil captain and No. 9 Gabriel Jesus was not as impressive in the first half of the match, and was replaced by Firmino after an hour.
