It is understood that United have met the €20 million buy-out clause in his contract with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his defence ahead of next season.

It is expected to be a busy summer at Old Trafford with a number of deals mooted but, surprisingly, Dalot is due to be the first signing.

A naturally right-footed player, Dalot has shown his versatility by also playing on the left side throughout his Porto career.

Young and Valencia made 77 appearances between them last season but there are concerns about their workload as United prepare for another campaign in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Dalot's representatives, which included the agent and his father, didn't provide Porto the option of offering a new deal in their last meeting as they simply revealed that the player wants to leave.

Seems like a poor guy can't write scout reports for a few hours without his mentions and DMs being exploded into an insane mess of Diogo Dalot questions.

The idea behind Dalot's transfer might be the fact that he would not warrant a regular place in the starting eleven from the get-go while also learning the tricks and trades as he is groomed to take over Valencia as the first-choice on the right in the coming season (s).

The Portugal Under-21 star is preparing to discuss personal terms with the Red Devils, according to The Telegraph.

Not many fans will have heard of the 19-year-old, he only broke into the Porto first team in February.
