Exploring the map to see what's different should be an exciting endeavor for Fortnite veterans, and these new areas that have been added with the comet's landing are definitely worth exploring. Namely, the long-awaited and highly anticipated theory crafted event of a Meteor crashing on Fortnite's Map has finally occurred.

As the Fortnite Tomato Town treasure map challenge is marked as "Hard", Season 4 Battle Pass owners will receive a 1,000 XP for its completion. Instead, Dusty Depot, the grouping of three large hangars in the centre of the island, has been destroyed.

As expected, Epic has launched a new battle pass for season 4, with plenty of skins themed around superheroes to unlock. Other more minor changes, including a newly fixed-size aiming reticle for the rocket launcher and hit markers displaying even when scoped in, also come into play with the new patch.

Although there are seven challenges each week, you can only complete four out of the seven Weekly Challenges to unlock your rewards, so choose the challenges that best fit your style and those offering the most Battle Stars. One of the biggest draws will undoubtedly be Season 4 since it is full of the coolest looking loot in the game.

Like previous seasons, Season 4 comes with its own Battle Pass.

Like the previous seasons, Epic Games is offering Season 4 for free.

The craters now feature glowing rocks which activate low gravity mode for players. Players who visit each crater will be rewarded with a new consumable that bends your gravity and allows you to jump higher. The update also brings some map changes for the Battle Royale mode, but Tilted Towers - a skyscraper-filled city in the center of the island - has survived. Many places you know and live have likely changed.

Once again, there will be 100 tiers to progress though as you earn experience points and level up.

Elsewhere, the patch notes explain headshots in Battle Royale are now prioritised, which means players can no longer block headshots with idle body parts.
