The retailer also says the program is covered by its "Amazon Key Happiness Guarantee", meaning that consumers can file a claim if they discover any damage.

Amazon has chalked off a few more major cities for online grocery delivery from Whole Foods Market.

To set up the Amazon Key In-Car Delivery, people need to download the Amazon Key App and link their Amazon and OnStar accounts.

Amazon is launching a service that can deliver packages inside the trunk of your vehicle!

Amazon said the service is available now across 37 cities and surrounding areas, with more rollouts planned.

When you order something from Amazon, In-Car delivery pops up as one of the options.

First of all, it's not Amazon that unlocks the vehicle, but the car's manufacturer.

Amazon reassures customers that it will be a safe delivery as they use "multiple layers of verification" to ensure that the authorized driver is that the location when the request is made. On the day a package is scheduled for delivery, customers use the Amazon Key app to confirm that their vehicle is parked in a place where a delivery can be made.

Well, now your auto trunk can be a safe and convenient delivery option.

During my test, I received a push notification from Amazon: "Arriving soon: Your package will be delivered to your Volvo".

The Seattle-based e-tail giant also is launching Amazon Key In-Car Delivery, a free service that enables Prime members to have purchases delivered to their parked cars.

Customers won't be able to get in-car deliveries if they park inside gated and underground parking garages where satellite signals often can't penetrate.

"It's been great because I am on the go, I've been at work and needed to have some packages delivered, so they can deliver straight to my vehicle", Jenny Williams, an Amazon customer who tried the service, said. "Letting a stranger put your purchases into the trunk of your auto also takes a fair bit of trust - but less so". Now, it's remotely controlled, app-connected locks on houses and cars to let couriers inside. First, Amazon's drivers have access to your vehicle and not your home. A selection of alcohol is also available for delivery to customers in Sacramento and San Diego, Amazon said. At this point, customers will be notified about the delivery and then the vehicle is relocked.

Another consideration is that Key In-Car has a raft of restrictions on user eligibility and what packages can delivered, which further limits its appeal.
