Apple offers battery replacement for some 13-inch MacBook Pros

All who are not fortunate enough to buy a laptop from a limited batch of 13-inch MacBook Pro, which had allowed the marriage, the company promised to replace free of charge component.

In a bid to compensate for some manufacturing defects, Apple has rolled out a battery replacement programme for its "non-Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro" devices.

Apple has announced that the battery replacement program is free of cost and owns won't have to spend anything for batteries. The Cupertino giant goes on to state that the issue does not affect the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar or older 13-inch MacBook Pro models. The affected models of MacBook were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017. However, Apple didn't reveal the actual number of MacBooks that have been affected by the issue.

Eligible MacBook Pro units can be taken to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple retail store for replacement services.

Apple noted, that the "your 13-inch MacBook Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order".

If your machine is eligible, the replacement process involves one of three options and the service could take 3-5 days to complete. Apple further notes that the replacement program will not extend the standard warranty coverage of the affected MacBook Pro.

A number of MacBook users have reported similar issues on Apple's Support Communities forum, with some complaints referencing 17-inch MacBook Pro models last sold in 2009.
