Having a 7-foot ace in the hole is nice, but as the series heads back to Miami, the Heat look capable of dragging things out at minimum, with Wade as the closer they needed all season. The Heat avoided one of their patented third-quarter collapses by answering every Sixers run, and it looked like the game was over after a quick 5-0 run put Miami up 91-76 early in the fourth quarter.

For the Sixers, the goal is to win just one-game on the road so they may have a fighting chance.

For the 76ers, Ben Simmons' 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists were in vain.

The win will give the Heat confidence heading home, something that could change the feel of this entire series... until the Sixers bring in Joel Embiid, and everything that happened the first couple of games will feel like a different series. The Sixers weren't going to replicate that in Game 2, but they went to the other end of the spectrum entirely by shooting 7-for-36 from distance.

Coach Brett Brown sounds frustrated in coachspeak at Embiid not being cleared to play.

The Sixers had started confidently, building a seven-point cushion to lead 29-22 at the end of the first quarter.

"He's a competitor and wants to play".

The series shifts to Miami for Game 3 on Thursday.

However, it was the second quarter that proved to be the most decisive in the match.

This game had a similar first half as Game 1, but saw more pressure on Philly's shooters from the get-go. They ended the season with a 16-game streak and had all the momentum on their side.

"I just came in with an aggressive approach", Wade said afterwards.

By not playing him, Brown may set Fultz back emotionally.

"That's a partnership with Joel and the medical people", Brown said. Meanwhile, James Johnson added 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists on a ideal 7-of-7 shooting. At the time, it was reported he would be out 2-4 weeks. He came back late in the second to score the Heat's final six points of the half and build that lead to 14.

The Philadelphia crowd was a major issue for Miami early on.
