Snow hits New York; Yankees home opener delayed

With another early spring snowstorm hitting Yankee Stadium and the rest of New York City Monday morning, the Bombers have postponed their Opening Day matinee against the Rays, the team announced.

"I feel like it's a matter of time with him, it's close", Boone said of Judge. He was 6-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 15 starts at Yankee Stadium and his ratio of 0.77 homers allowed per nine innings in NY is the sixth-lowest by any Yankee with a minimum of 75 innings.

Toronto's comeback denied NY its first series victory north of the border since August 2015.

The Toronto slugger also hit a two-run homer in the seventh and had three of Toronto's 12 hits. He laboured through a 21-pitch first inning - walking a pair - before escaping with back-to-back strikeouts.

NY will be rolling with lefty Jordan Montgomery.

Over on the Yankees' side, they're fresh off a set versus Toronto.

The Yankees themselves seem to be taking the forecast in stride.

So, the fact that Donaldson was 2 for 13 in the series - or that Smoak had five hits in his previous eight at-bats, including a 2-run home run off Tommy Kahnle in the seventh inning - did not outweigh the long-term data.

Kevin Pillar just accomplished the rare feat of stealing home off of Yankees reliever Dellin Betances to give the Blue Jays a 5-3 lead in the eighth inning. "It really is 100 percent chance of snow at 7 a.m". Tampa Bay is using a four-man rotation and plans to turn to its bullpen to get through a game every fifth day.

Said scheduled starter Jordan Montgomery, a native of SC: "I've thrown in hail before".
