Ask the coach if you want to know why I play less.

"They (Swansea) didn't cross the halfway line, they didn't have one shot".

After the disappointing reigns of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, United turned to the Portuguese in the summer of 2016 in a bid to bring glory back to Old Trafford.

Just 15 minutes later, the points were as good as decided when Lingard collected the ball just inside Swansea territory and threaded through a magnificent pass for Sanchez to race on and deliver an unstoppable finish from the edge of the area.

David De Gea preserved United's clean sheet with a couple of smart saves off substitute Tammy Abraham in the second half. The second half was different, we gave them the chance they didn't have in the first half.

But, after a Champions League last-16 exit against Sevilla and accusations of playing "boring" football, Mourinho has faced some criticism in his second season in charge at United.

Pogba started the season in superb form in the Premier League before missing 12 games with a hamstring injury between September and November.

"The team played very well in the first-half, so Alexis played well", said Mourinho.

Instead, his focus was on Manchester United's hold on second place ahead of Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea, who he believes have been given more credit than his team.

The France global made a blistering start to the Premier League season following two goals and two assists in his opening four games.

"This isn't a game, this is our living and we need to win, and I think Paul's got to get that a bit more into his character".

United remain on course for their highest finish in the Premier League since winning the 2012-13 title in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season in charge, having finished seventh, fourth, fifth and sixth in the past four campaigns.
