The sole winning ticket for the Mega Millions lottery was sold in New Jersey, the state's lottery organization said on Saturday, but the identity of the victor of the $521 million jackpot was not immediately known. It's only the fourth time in the history of the game that the jackpot exceeded $500 million.

The jackpot victor from Friday night's drawing will get an estimated $521 million prize, or $317 million cash.

"The last couple of days we sold a lot of I don't know if it's a guy, a woman, or who it is", Riad said.

Mega Million's website did not list where, exactly, the winning ticket was sold, although the New Jersey Lottery tweeted that the ticket was sold at the Riverdale Lukoil South in Riverdale, Morris County.

According to CBS, the odds of winning the $521 million prize were 302.5 million to one.

Experts say your chances of winning the jackpot are more than 2,000 times less likely than being killed by lightning.

No tickets matched all six numbers drawn in Tuesday night's drawing. IL residents can once again purchase Powerball and Mega Millions lottery tickets after the IL legislature passed a state budget Thursday, July 6. They increased the starting jackpot to $40 million, and changed the play structure.

In order to win tonight's jackpot, you'd need to match all five white balls and the yellow Mega ball. "I wish somebody from MI they win it". For Powerball, it's one in roughly 292 million.
