It also has a speaker that is "loud and clear", and can be heard over street noises and echoes, according to Google. And if you can't answer the door, just choose a quick, pre-recorded response like, "Just a moment, we'll be right there". So you must check that your doorbell wiring is compatible. You can use the command from your phone too.

Nest - on Wednesday - announced two new products: the $229 Hello video doorbell and the $249 X Yale smart lock. There is no keyhole in the Nest X Yale lock, but it would send notifications when the batteries are running low, notes CNET. It connects to the Nest app, so you can unlock the door from anywhere. You can create passcodes and unlock the door remotely. If someone forgets their passcode, just let them in from the Nest app.

Google's smart lock also automatically locks itself, so you don't have to worry about yourself or a family member remembering to lock the door behind them. And with the addition of our new lock and doorbell, they work even better because they work together.

Nest's Home/Away Assist feature will automatically lock your door once it detects you're not home, and if you use the Nest Secure home security system, the Nest x Yale lock will automatically disarm this once it's unlocked. Your indoor cameras turn off to protect your privacy, and your thermostat turns up to make you cozy. The camera has a vertical 4:3 ratio, allowing the owner to see the person at the door from head to toe. Nest, of course, is now a part of the Google hardware team, which means they've baked in Google Assistant and Google Home support now. Ask Google to arm Nest Secure.

Nest Hello can tell the homeowners someone is at the door even before the doorbell rings.

The smart lock and Hello doorbell are already available for sale on the Nest website, the temperature sensor will be available in April 2018. Nest owners can let their thermostat know what room should be the most comfortable.

Helps make sure a certain room is the exact temperature you want it to be. Up to six sensors can be connected to a single thermostat.

The Nest Temperature Sensor is available to pre-order now in the U.S. with a United Kingdom release yet to be confirmed.
