This is Rhode Island's second consecutive trip to the tournament under A-10 Coach of the Year Dan Hurley and only the second time in the history of the program that URI has gone to consecutive NCAA tournaments.

Tipoff for the Drake-A&M game will be 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Journal sports writers Kevin McNamara and Bill Koch will break down the matchups this week for both PC and URI as well as report live on both teams on providencejournal.com and on Twitter as the Rams and Friars open NCAA Tournament play.

Hailing from the Big East, Providence is the first team A&M will play from the coveted basketball conference this season. The Aggies join Tennessee (#3 seed, South Region), Auburn (#4 seed, East Region), Kentucky (#5 seed, South Region), Florida (#6 seed, East Region), Arkansas (#7 seed, East Region), Missouri (#8 seed, South Region) and Alabama (#9 seed, East Region) as the SEC's representatives in the tournament. It also will be a team-record fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Friars.

If the Aggies advance to the Second Round, things do not lighten up, as A&M would likely face 2-seed North Carolina.

UNC will face 15-seed Lipscomb in the First Round.

Texas A&M round out the teams that will be representing the Lone Star State in the tournament. The Aggies are as Jekyll and Hyde as they come.

Thanks to a three-game win streak to close the regular season, the Aggies were not on the bubble heading into the SEC Tournament. "Thirteen straight NCAA Tournaments".
