The ISA is open to 121 prospective member countries, majority located between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn as this is the region worldwide with a surplus of bright sunlight for most of the year. "We will generate 175GW of electricity from renewables by 2022, of which 100GW of power will be from solar energy".

The team members will inspect the works done in promoting solar roof top and solar pump scheme and also, discuss planning and development of activities that would increase the use of solar energy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi President Macron will jointly inaugurate a solar plant in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh today.

Since India and France are providing funds to ISA member-countries for setting up projects on solar energy and global financial institutions and mechanisms are partnering with ISA to generate funds, the cost of solar projects would come down, President Hamid hoped. "We have to strengthen ISA Secretariat and make it more professional".

The ISA was formally founded in France after a treaty was signed in Morocco, while it is headquartered in Gwal Pahari, Gurugram, Haryana India. This comes even as India chases the world's largest renewable programme, targeting 175 gigawatts (GW, or 1,000 megawatts) of renewable power by 2022 against its current capacity of around 60 GW. The line of credit is for a tenure of 15 years including a grace period of three years, and it will be used for financing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in India. These solar projects are in Bangladesh, Mali, Seychelles, Tanzania, Mali, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea. "I am also pleased to announce that India will start a Solar Technology Mission which will have worldwide focus", the prime minister said. "The facility has also demonstrated that we can do much more", he said. "The Founding Conference of the International Solar Alliance is also an example of concerted global action on climate change".

The ISA has been making rapid strides since its launch at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris on November 30, 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then French President Francois Hollande, she said.

The ISA is a major diplomatic feat by India.

Electricity from renewable sources is cheap, reliable and clean.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Solar Alliance (ISA) have signed a cooperation agreement to promote solar energy deployment in Asia and the Pacific region.

"However, in India, from thousands of years ago, the central place that has been given to the sun is unparalleled".

"But in order to reach the 1,000 billion dollars by 2030, to reach the 1 TW of solar energy, we need private investors", he said, adding that the alliance will provide a favourable framework.

"Our solar mamas, who we just listened to, didn't wait for us".

"They (ISA member nations) started to act and to deliver complete results. They made a decision to act and keep acting, and that's why we are here, in order to act very concretely", Macron said amid applause. Because they (ISA nations) decided it is good for them their children and grandchildren.

So many heads of state were present at the meeting that a traffic issue was sent to the already bustling Indian capital on Friday morning, warning that jams were expected throughout the weekend as world leaders arrived, with solar as the key talking point.
