Police said the accuser suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

If Aldon Smith had aspirations of getting back into the National Football League, that is likely over following this latest alleged incident.

A day after he was named a suspect in domestic violence incident, the Oakland Raiders released linebacker Aldon Smith.

According to NBA Sports Bay Area, Smith was involved in an altercation on Saturday and fled the scene before police arrived and identified him as the suspect.

While TMZ did not mention the woman's name in its latest report, the gossip site revealed about a week ago that Smith had proposed to his girlfriend Shawna McKnight.

While still suspended by the NFL, Oakland Raiders Aldon Smith has now gotten himself into another troubling situation. He voluntarily entered rehab and missed five games that season.

That came while police said they were searching for him after the incident.

San Francisco police officers responded to a report of a domestic-violence incident on Saturday night.

Last year, Smith was detained for "public intoxication" after a auto crash with an unmarked police vehicle.

You can also hear talk of how Smith allegedly drank two bottles of tequila.

Smith's potential reinstatement to the NFL hinges on good behavior and adhering to the league's substance abuse policy. Smith was charged with three felony counts - later reduced to misdemeanors - of illegal possession of an assault weapon for an 2012 incident in which he was reportedly stabbed. Smith was suspended for one year beginning November 17, 2015, but has yet to be reinstated.
