It is a passage particularly amusing (extended in a second gag), which has stimulated fans in 2017 which are at the time, took to Twitter to call for the return of the sauce Szechuan.

McDonald's is finally bringing its Szechuan sauce to the masses after months of petitions, bidding wars, and riots in fast-food parking lots. Szechuan sauce packets will be available beginning February 26, and will last as long as quantities last.

It's available while supplies last, but hopefully it's around for a lot longer this time. However, McDonald's neglected to mention that each location would only have a very limited number of sauce packets, and quickly ran out.

Rick's need for Szechuan sauce became a meme, but fans weren't just being playful. The company has also released a three-episode podcast titled The Sauce, which goes inside the botched previous release of the sauce that left Rick and Morty fans angry.

"Rick and Morty" fans swarmed to those locations, only to find that each restaurant had only 20 to 40 sauce packets and 10 special-edition posters.

A press release from McDonald's addressed the pandemonium that broke out in October, saying the company had the best intentions but admitting it went very wrong. "Furious diehard fans formed outside restaurants chanting "we want sauce" and holding signs that read "#GiveUsTheSauce". The next day, McDonald's had to offer fans an apology online.

That's not a problem, Mcdonald's plans to produce again its sauce Szechuan, but by doing things well this time and by delivering all of the signs in quantity suiffsantes.

With "Rick & Morty" experiencing a peak of cultural influence at the time, McDonald's decided it might be fun to take that shoutout and turn it into a fun promotional event.
