Roughly one year ago, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card issued by Chase began offering eligible Prime members a 5 percent cash back deal on all Amazon.com purchases.

Amazon.com Inc on Tuesday extended its 5 percent cash back benefit for Prime service subscribers to shoppers at its newly acquired Whole Foods Market grocery chain. That should result in a spike in Visa card sign-ups (which also nets you up to a $70 Amazon voucher) and Prime member visits to Whole Foods.

"We've seen incredible excitement and adoption around our Amazon Rewards Visa Credit Cards and are thrilled to partner with Amazon and Whole Foods Market to bring even more rewards to our joint cardmembers", said Leslie Gillin, president of Chase Co-Brand Cards, according to USA Today. The non-Prime version of the card offers 3% back. Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express cardholders can earn 6% cash back on USA supermarket purchases (up to $6,000 a year), which includes Whole Foods purchases. Amazon opened pop-up stores this past holiday season at Whole Foods locations with opportunities for customers to try out devices and learn more about Prime.

Amazon continues to sweeten the Whole Foods shopping experience for its Prime Rewards customers.

The delivery plan is slated to be rolled out nationwide later this year.

Amazon, however, is focused on greater integration between the two companies through groundbreaking technology and offers, such as fast shipping.
