Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 5 And Redmi Note 5 Pro In India

In line with its commitment to make in India, Xiaomi will manufacture its two new offerings - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro - at its two manufacturing units in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, Xiaomi India said on Wednesday.

Tech lovers especially fans of smartphone giants Xiaomi will rejoice today on Valentine's Day as the much awaited Redmi Note 5 will be launched at a special event in New Delhi. While the Redmi Note 5 is the same Redmi 5 Plus launched in China, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is a completely new device.

Redmi Note 5's camera will have a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. Dubbed Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, this is the global debut of the smartphone.

While the Redmi Note 5 Pro has been launched exclusively for the Indian market and comes loaded with some solid specifications, the Redmi Note 5 can be considered as a modest update to the most popular Redmi Note 4. India is also the first worldwide market to get this TV. Xiaomi claims this is the world's thinnest LED TV, though the stand design means you won't be able to place it flush against a wall.

Xiaomi has also promised over 500,000 hours of content in the Mi TV 4 across 15 Indic languages, out of which 80 percent will be free content. The Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes in two variants - 6GB/64GB and 4GB/64GB. Both will be available in the same colors as the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro can be yours for INR 13,999 for the base model of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage while the high-end variant of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage will set you back INR 16,999.

The Mi TV 4 is bundled with 11-button Mi Remote that works with the TV and Set Top Box, using the Mi IR cable. The front also features a selfie flash, front-facing camera and earpiece at the top. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor. It comes in two variants - 3GB/32 GB and 4GB/64 GB - in terms of storage space.

Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9, Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD). The Mi TV 4 will be available to buy from Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores, starting February 22.

For photography, Xiaomi has included a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. The connectivity features available on the Mi TV 4 include Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz/5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy), Ethernet, 3 x HDMI ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 S/PDIF port and 1 AV port.
