Big man Willie Reed is now serving a six-game suspension due to a domestic violence incident [VIDEO].

Blake Griffin is also a very athletic big man who is also skilled at catching lob passes and turning them into points, all of this points out that Jameer Nelson is going to adapt very well in the current Detroit Pistons game-plan, and that this trade is a very smart move from them. Chicago and Detroit will also swap 2022 second-round picks as a part of the deal. Chicago immediately waived Reed.

No, it's not a glamorous trade, but Nelson will improve the Pistons' depth.

Willie Reed's last team (Los Angeles Clippers) traded him along with Blake Griffin to the Pistons [VIDEO]. Nelson was just acquired by the Bulls this past week in a trade that sent their star forward Nikola Mirotic to the Pelicans.

The Bulls acquired Nelson from the New Orleans Pelicans in the Nikola Mirotic trade strictly as salary ballast, and he nearly certainly would have been waived had Chicago not found a taker before the deadline. Detroit (27-26) has won five games in a row since the Griffin deal.

Nelson, 6-0, 190, has averaged 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 28.0 minutes in 871 career National Basketball Association games with Orlando, Dallas, Boston, Denver and New Orleans.

Ennis has found a regular role with the Grizzlies over the last two seasons after spending time bouncing between the National Basketball Association and D-League prior to that. The veteran point guard did not appear in any games with Chicago but averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 assists over 20.9 minutes per night in New Orleans. Reed saw limited action in three games before his suspension. He was a first-round pick in the 2016 draft by the Clippers, but has played less than 50 minutes in his National Basketball Association career.
