Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned that financial imbalance among football clubs is "destroying competition" around Europe.

The Gabon global has been in fine form for Dortmund with 13 goals in 16 Bundesliga games.

"He had a fever, so he could not practice a lot". He started yesterday, was still not completely well.

The 28-year-old Gabon worldwide bring fine form to the Emirates having scored 13 goals in 16 Bundesliga games for Dortmund, but Arsenal fans may have to wait to see him in action after Wenger confirmed he is struggling to be ready for Saturday's home clash against Everton, Goal writes.

"The Premier League is a challenge for every big player today", said the Frenchman.

"We have done what I wanted to do but we couldn't do everything".

"We lost some goals because we lost [Alexis] Sanchez, Giroud and [Theo] Walcott who were our goalscorers". Aubameyang signed for Arsenal on transfer deadline day in January - for a fee reportedly in the region of £56m.

"It was a hard deal because Dortmund needed a replacement", said Wenger.

"First we had to agree a transfer deal with them and after that wait for them to find someone who can replace him". Following the change, Arsenal went on to win the FA Cup with a 3-4-3 formation, overcoming Manchester City in the last four and then Chelsea in the final. "That is why it was short in time and tense until the end".

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are widely regarded as excellent attacking additions to the Arsenal squad, but at 28 and 29 respectively the nine-figure outlay on these two former Dortmund players is alarming.

Jack Wilshere will also be assessed after missing Tuesday's loss at Swansea with an illness.
