"He's got the smallest room for his office", Michelle Obama hilariously revealed on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Thursday, Feb. 1.

"Oh no, no no".

While speaking to Ellen, Michelle said: "He got so shortchanged on this whole deal".

Barack Obama may have been the leader of the free world for eight years, but it seems that acquiring enough closet space in his own home is proving to be a challenge. "I may not be a 3rd grade teacher, but this gets an A+ in my book!" she wrote.

DeGeneres talked about how a significant number of people is frightened by the current events unfolding in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Obama told the audience not to let Washington D.C. politicians dictate how they should live their life, but to continue to show empathy and compassion.

'Sasha actually killed in this house - she has this two-room suite, it's all decked out.

And she offered a glimpse into her post-White House life, one she said is more normal than some people might expect.

Michelle Obama returned to TV today for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres - her first since she left the White House. "Never before do you get this gift, so I'm sort of like OK", she said. "I mean, this is like a state visit so they tell you you're gonna do this, you're gonna stand here", Michelle said. "That's not necessarily who we are, we know who we are". "Yeah, you don't waste rooms on college kids", she joked. "What I learned in those eight years is home is where we make it, and we were in the White House for eight years but it wasn't the house - it was us in it". She was unsure what to do with it - until her husband took the gift inside the White House. She's got a living room area and bedroom.

Michelle Obama was clearly surprised by the gift and unsure of what to do with it after she received it. And the dogs, Bo and Sunny, don't know what a doorbell is.

The two women have been friends for years, with Obama making multiple appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" during her husband's presidency. On the day of her school's open house, the young girl even donned a royal blue dress just like Michelle wore in the main photo on her poster.
