TV channels aired the photo alongside pictures of her lifeless body abandoned on a heap of garbage in her home city of Kasur. After that he shaved his beard off so that no one could recognise him'.

Meanwhile, the people gathered outside the house of the accused and tried to set it on fire. The police shifted the family of the accused to an undisclosed place to save them from the anger of people.

The police also arrested four other persons on the information provided by the accused.

"We have found some initial evidence and there is well-found reason to believe he is the culprit", Malik Ahmed Khan, spokesperson for the Punjab government, told Dawn. She said he used to get possessed by djinns. Government also claims that accused Imran confessed his crimes after matching his DNA with samples obtained from the dead body of deceased Zainab. If that was the case, then he should be given a befitting punishment to be exorcised, she added.
