Gamers can earn these loot boxes through Zeni and Premium Z coins.

Hopefully Bandai Namco can smooth out the server issues for the second beta so Dragon Ball FighterZ can have a great launch on its release date later this month on January 26 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Players were skeptical about whether or not she would actually be a character that can fight, but it seems that with the reveal of the last Dragon Ball FighterZ character, she will indeed be a character that can augment her brains with brawn.

According to this user, it looks like loot boxes will only be for cosmetic items.

It's unclear whether these loot boxes are just items that you earn through playing the game or if there is a real world money element here. We reached out to Bandai Namco for comment and clarification and will update if we receive word. For Dragon Ball FighterZ things are different, instead of buying the loot boxes for cash, Bandai Namco wants players to play the game. The cel-shaded 2.5D fighter follows a 3v3 format similar to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and it's packed with Easter eggs and references for Dragon Ball fans to find. Due to EA's debacle, other game publishers will have to be careful when handling loot boxes in the future.

Dragon Ball FighterZ releases on January 26 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Pre-orders for Dragon Ball FighterZ are now live on Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
