The Palestinians on Wednesday strongly criticized Israel's new plan of constructing settlement units in the West Bank and said the policies of the USA administration in the Middle East have provided cover for Israel. "Look no further (as) to why there is no peace..."

Last year Israel barred World Council of Churches leader, Isabel Phiri, a citizen of Malawi living in Switzerland, due to the support of the WCC for the Palestinian struggle against Israeli Apartheid.

Israeli troops have combed villages around the city of Nablus searching for the suspects in Tuesday's attack near the Havat Gilad settlement, a military statement said.

"We stress the commitment of the Palestinian people to the prisoners and families of the prisoners".

"The Israeli efforts are aimed at annexing the entire West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, and in doing so intensifies the pace of settlement construction in the absence of serious worldwide accountability", said Shaath.

Hundreds attended Shevah's funeral at Havat Gilad.

Occasional attempts by Israeli authorities to evacuate Havat Gilad have led to clashes with the settlers there.

Those without approval are referred to as outposts and are typically populated by hardline religious nationalists, who see the entire West Bank as biblical land promised to them by the "God of Israel".

He also condemned Hamas for welcoming the shooting and the Palestinian Authority for killed or imprisoned by the Israeli authorities.

The statement by Friedman denounced Hamas for praising a drive-by shooting that killed Israeli Rabbi Raziel Shevach, who was shot Tuesday in a West Bank attack. Shevah is the first Israeli killed since then.

Meanwhile, the ministry issued another statement accusing the USA envoy to Israel David Friedman of adopting the policies of Israeli occupation through his attack on the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).

The approvals were given on Wednesday by a Defense Ministry committee with responsibility for settlement construction, AFP reported.

Israeli officials say payments to the families of attackers encourages further violence and have regularly called for a halt to them. Those who committed more severe crimes and are sentenced to 20 or more years in prison are paid five times that every month for the rest of their lives.
