Most recently, writer Michael Wolffe wrote in his best-selling book on the Trump presidency, Fire and Fury, that Trump has a "creepy" fascination with who is Jewish within his administration. Dianne Feinstein of being "underhanded and a disgrace" for disclosing details of a dossier of allegations about his ties to Russian Federation during the campaign. "Must have tough Primary!"

"After speaking with majority and minority committee staff for 10 hours, Glenn Simpson requested the transcript of his interview be released publicly".

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) speaks to President Trump during a meeting on immigration policy at the White House on Tuesday.

In October, The Washington Post reported the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee had helped fund Fusion GPS' research on Trump's alleged ties with Russian Federation. Republican Sens. Charles E. Grassley (Iowa), committee chair, and Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.), also on the committee with Feinstein, have referred Simpson for criminal prosecution.

President Trump tweeted on Wednesday, "The fact that Sneaky Dianne Feinstein, who has on numerous occasions stated that collusion between Trump/Russia has not been found, would release testimony in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way, totally without authorization, is a disgrace". As The Hill explains, a challenging primary is unlikely as California's primary system rewards the highest two finishers, no matter party affiliation, and Feinstein's only notable challenger at this level is a Democrat.

It was unclear what Trump meant by saying that Republicans should take control.

The president added, "The single greatest Witch Hunt in American history continues".

But Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, released the 312-page transcript, the latest sign of a deepening partisan divide over the investigations.

"The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice", Feinstein, a California Democrat, said in a statement. Grassley said he was "confounded" by the release and argued that it could undermine attempts to get additional witnesses.

Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in October to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his conversations with Russian officials, and is cooperating with prosecutors led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.
