Netflix Recommends Razer Phone: Announces HDR App

The battery bank in the laptop portion of Project Linda can charge the Razer Phone fully three times before an AC adapter needs to be plugged in. But Razer's Project Linda might be another effort worth taking a look at. The Razer Phone, launched a few weeks ago as a device for gamers with a 120 Hz IGZO display and focused on content consumption with loud front facing speakers, is now the recommended premium device that Netflix suggests to watch Netflix content on. The phone docks in the laptop shell where you'd normally find the touchpad, and the screen then works as a touchpad, or a second monitor for gaming. Razer is playing to the phone strengths (the speakers), much in the same way that other smartphone brands are partnering with well-known companies on their strengths (Huawei with Leica). Since the Razer smartphone is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 8GB of RAM, users will be able to enjoy responsive Android experience on the bigger laptop screen and the 5.7-inch display of the phone can be used as a touchpad or as a secondary screen to access some parts of apps, etc. Unfortunately, the Razer Project Linda does not have a price tag and since this is just a prototype, it does not appear to get into the mass production phase.

So obviously a "recommended device" does two things: firstly, not a lot - no-one who takes care of their own financial planning is going to specifically go out and buy a Razer Phone purely on Netflix recommendations.

Based on the Razer Blade Stealth, Project Linda is indistinguishable from the company's other high-end Windows laptops. The phone's screen is mirrored on Project Linda's display and the phone itself becomes the trackpad. It features a full-size keyboard with Chroma backlighting for personalization.

The aluminium body of the Razer Project Linda has 200gb of storage, a 3.5mm audio jack, USB port, USBC port, 720p webcam and double mics.

When Razer announced their introduction into the mobile market, it was an impressive debut to the surprise of many.
