Sumpter Township Police responded to a 911 call on New Year's Day and found family members attempting CPR on the helpless girl.

Candice Renea Diaz, 24, and Brad Fields, 28, were captured by U.S. Marshals in Lake Park near the Florida state line, the Sumpter Township Police Department confirmed.

America's Most Wanted couple is on the run after police say a brutalized and severely burned four-year-old girl was left for dead at a MI mobile home park.

Police said that the home where the girl was found with serious scald wounds was full of animal waste and contained guns and drugs.

The child was transported to an Ann Arbor hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The girl's death was ruled a homicide two days later, after an autopsy which also revealed additional traumatic injuries and evidence of Battered Child Syndrome.

Police launched a manhunt for Diaz and Fields, who have been charged with felony murder, second-degree murder, first-degree child abuse and torture, police said.

WDIV reported that the girl's January 1 death was not the first time police have been called to the couple's mobile home.

According to neighbors, Child Protective Services had been to the home several times over the years, but the children were never taken from the home.

Mugshots released Monday by Sumpter Township police officials appear to stem from charges filed against both Fields and Diaz following that incident.

"She's just a little angel".

He was later arrested on domestic violence charges.

Diaz pleaded guilty to two charges: possession of prescription forms and altering ID marks on a firearm, online court records show.

"We didn't know. We would have gone" and removed her from the home, he said.
