'Big Little Lies' wins most Golden Globe awards for a TV show

"It allows us to speak and be heard". The actor, addressing the sexual abuse scandal in Hollywood indirectly, said it was important to tell the right kind of stories.

The 75th Annual Golden Globes were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California and aired on NBC. The actor who portrays her husband, Alexander Skarsgard, also won a Globe for supporting actor.

Early winners of the night included HBO's Big Little Lies, and Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, which won for best drama, as well as getting a gong for star Elisabeth Moss. Moss, in her acceptance speech, quoted novelist Margaret Atwood, whose book provides the basis for the series.

In the evening's first award, Nicole Kidman of HBO's Big Little Lies took best actress in a limited series or TV movie.

He also thanked Kidman, who starred alongside him in the show as his wife, Celeste.

Meanwhile, "Three Billbords Outside Ebbing, Missouri" picked up the coveted Best Motion Picture, Drama accolade, as well as Best Screenplay, while Frances McDormand took home Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama and her co-star Sam Rockwell won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. Witherspoon, one of the show's producers, spoke about women who had been silenced by harassment and abuse when "Big Little Lies" was honored as best limited series. Laura Dern won a third Globe for the series for supporting actress.

This Is Us also received three Golden Globe nominations during its first season, although this is the first time Brown is up for an award - Metz and Mandy Moore were the ones nominated a year ago. That was a popular joke at the 2017 Golden Globes too. One of Hollywood's most powerful female creators is behind the series, Amy Sherman-Palladino, who was created "Gilmore Girls".

"A lot has come out of the darkness and into the light", she said. But whether or not This Is Us wins anything at the Globes should be a good indicator of how it'll perform at the Emmys once the season has wrapped up. He said he was grateful to the series' creator for making a character specifically written for a black man.

"Nicole, I love you".
