Dry weather Friday and Saturday, precipitation in Sunday's forecast

Starting Monday, the possibility of rain increases, with peak rain early Tuesday morning and then decreasing in the afternoon and evening.

"We will be seeing high temperatures get up above freezing for the first time in as much as ten days", said Dave Tucek, with the National Weather Service.

The wedge is formed when weather patterns from the west and northeast meet over north Georgia, often causing severe weather for the area. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Today will see partly sunny skies, with a high near 27, along with a light and variable wind becoming northeast around 6 miles per hour in the afternoon. The temperature will rise to around 34 by 3 a.m., with a south wind of 7 to 9 miles per hour.

The bitter cold is expected to give way, briefly at least, to a monster snowstorm with screaming winds that could drop more than a foot (0.3 meters) of snow in some areas on Thursday. Sunday night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.

By Friday morning, wind chill readings of 0 to -10 degrees will be possible.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 38.

Today: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76.

27 Storm Track meteorologist Star Derry is forecasting a high of 13 on Saturday with light snow possible late at night.

By Monday, highs may inch into the 40s, but, there's also a chance of a wintry mix. Overnight, the skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 17 and a south wind of 6-8 miles per hour.
