theLotter hit headlines around the world when an Iraqi man scooped up the $8 million Cdn. jackpot through the service in December 2015. Mega Millions has odds of one in 302.6 million and Powerball is slightly better at one in 292.2 million.

The Mega Millions drawing will take place Tuesday night, offering players an annuity jackpot of $343 million, paid over 29 years.

There were no winners in Saturday night's Powerball drawing, so the grand prize in that game has now reached $440 million ahead of another drawing Wednesday.

Large jackpots are more common than they used to be.

"Some are playing just the Powerball because it has the highest jackpot, but most appear to be getting at least one ticket for both", Maloney added.

"I usually don't play unless the jackpots get to six figures", he said.

Only once before in history have two U.S. lottery jackpots been simultaneously greater than $300 million, and that occurred in August 2017. Most recently, theLotter has helped create lottery millionaires in Canada, El Salvador, Russia, Ukraine & Australia, and a Panamanian pensioner won $30 million in a United States lottery!

Tickets for both games sell for $2.
