Thomas Lemar will not be available for sale in January, Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed. Various English and French media have advanced in recent weeks the various movements that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have made to test the chances of access to the signing of the young attacker for January. More recently, he was a target of Manchester United.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in his services according to reports but the statement from Monaco suggests that there will not be any further movement from a squad perspective before the end of the season.

The Daily Star says the France global has been heavily linked with a move away from Ligue 1 in recent months.

The paper says that the Monaco magician "would prefer to join Liverpool rather than Arsenal" in next month's transfer window and the Reds are rolling in the Anfield aisles at the news.

Monaco want £90 million for Lemar, but that figure has been scoffed at by the Premier League sides.

Monaco sold numerous players during the offseason transfer window. "We have never spoken (to Lemar or his entourage) about the possibility of a January departure", Vasilyev said, as quoted by the Mirror.

The news of Liverpool's likely signing of Lemar will add to the speculation that Philippe Coutinho will be moving to Barcelona in the new year.
