According to the weather service's seven-day forecast, Boston faces the slight chance of snow overnight before 9 a.m. Thursday. With light to moderate lake effect snow showers through the morning, some parts of northwest IN could get 2 to 4 inches of snow. "Some slick roads and treacherous travel can be expected should the snow materialize as now forecast".

For Thursday in the Harrisburg area, expect gradually clearing skies, with a high near 32 and wind gusts as high as 21 miles per hour.

A winter storm watch is in effect from this evening through Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Buffalo reported. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.

Every time MI sees a snowstorm barrel across the state, National Weather Service teams from Marquette to Detroit are quick to invite residents to send in their own snow measurements.

Friday: Another 40% chance of snow with highs in the upper 20s. Northwest wind 5 to 13 miles per hour.

Much of the area saw a fresh blanket of two to four inches of snow since Wednesday afternoon. The snow showers will move east early Wednesday night.

"It really is a combination of bridge and road temperatures and any small accumulation of snow combined with all the tires of rush hour causing friction that can make snow change right to ice and cause a nasty commute", Strong said.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15.
