And on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that point guard Patrick Beverley will miss the rest of the season with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Unfortunately for Beverley and the free-falling Clippers, the guard will now be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on the ailing knee.

His timetable for a return is approximately nine months, which is near the end of August 2018. With Beverley out, Sindarius Thornwell should continue to start for the time being, though once Milos Teodosic (foot) is cleared to play, it will be Teodosic's spot to lose moving forward.

The Clippers are 0-5 without Beverley in the lineup this season.

Jordan, who was never an offensive star, is having his worst offensive season since 2012-13, when he was playing just under 25 minutes per game.

"He's probably going to be out a while", Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters in Atlanta, where the reeling team was to face the Hawks on Wednesday night, the fourth game of a five-game cross-country trip. He was averaging 12.2 points per game with the Clippers in 11 games this season.

Beverley is expected to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season. His productivity and efficiency are down in the absence of Chris Paul, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering their great chemistry in pick-and-rolls and Jordan's need for someone to tee him up for scoring opportunities. One of the biggest names being mentioned in trade rumors this early season is Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.
