PAAS leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday said the Congress has accepted their demands and agreed to give reservation to Patidar community. Interestingly, Bambhaniya who had a meeting with state Congress leaders on Sunday evening, before the tickets were announced, had first informed the media that the two outfits had reached a consensus and that the Congress had accepted all the demands of PASS and Hardik would formally announce about it in the Rajkot rally on Monday. "The Congress has agreed to give Patidars reservations under section 31, and provisions of section 46", he said. Sibal thanked Hardik for declaring his support for Congress for the Gujarat polls and said their united fight would dethrone BJP. "So directly or indirectly, there will be support to Congress", he said. On the other side, Kapil Sibal just said that Congress received a proposal from PAAS. Article 31C protects laws made to implement the directive principles even if they violate fundamental rights. He further added that he had never asked any Patidars to vote for Congress. The BJP veteran leader warned Hardik that a day will come when people of the Patidar community would teach him a lesson for "playing with their sentiments". However, he did not say about PAAS alliance with the Congress.

Moreover, Hardik Patel in the press conference said Congress has to put the detailed reservation formula in their manifesto of the upcoming Gujarat elections.

The "Vikas gando thayo chhe" campaign became a huge hit on social media and provided potent ammunition for PAAS and Congress to question the BJP's claims on development in Gujarat. "Legally and constitutionally that (breaching the 50% cap) is not possible as the law stands today". "The Congress after coming to power will do the survey required as per the OBC commission".

The Patidar leader also accused BJP of horses trading attempts in Gujarat and said it used the tactics fearing defeat in Gujarat.

Hardik also said that he has not joined the Congress, but asked his supporters to vote against the BJP in the Gujarat Assembly elections.
