Sprint says it and Hulu "soon plan to offer Sprint Unlimited customers an upgrade option for Hulu's sports and news-centric live TV plan".

Mobile carrier Sprint will bundle a subscription to over-the-top streaming service Hulu with one of its signature packages starting later this week, the companies announced Wednesday. For a limited time, the carrier is also throwing in an extra line for free.

As part of the promotion, Sprint unlimited users will get free access to Hulu's traditional $7.99 per month streaming plan (Hulu now offers the plan for $5.99 as a "limited time promotion"). However, you do get full access to Hulu's expansive streaming library, including Hulu Originals like The Handmaid's Tale.

"We know people love watching TV on their mobile devices, so we're making it easier than ever for Sprint customers to enjoy their favorite shows and movies on Hulu", Tim Connolly, Hulu's senior vice president and head of distribution and partnerships, said in the announcement. Getting in a dig at T-Mobile and its partnership with Netflix, Sprint says, "Other wireless carriers might say they have entertainment covered".

The partnership also enables Hulu, whose service is mainly geared toward younger audiences, to reach Sprint's broader customer base of families as well as share in subscriber revenue, the companies said.

The Hulu Limited Commercials plan normally sells for $7.99 monthly after a one-year initial deal of $5.99 per month, according to the Hulu website.

"Sprint is planning to include TV shows from Hulu with its unlimited plans", the market research firm wrote in a note so subscribers. Currently, you can get unlimited everything for just $25 a line when signing up for a four line family plan. The plan includes unlimited data, talk and text, as well as 10GB of hotspot data per line and HD streaming video.
