Conor McGregor confronts referee as celebrations turn sour at Bellator 187

The MMA fighter was a guest at Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland, where he was supporting fellow Irish fighter Charlie Ward.

McGregor, not a licensed cornerman, was not permitted to enter the cage, but stood during the bout in front of the media seats bellowing instructions to his associate in the contest.

Mazzulli said McGregor "assaulted Referee Mark Goddard and a Bellator staff" (member) in the statement.

This time, it got physical.

He wasn't as gracious Friday when Goddard appeared to touch his chest while instructing him to leave.

McGregor was so vocal and animated during Lobov's fight with Andre Fili that Goddard paused the action in the cage to give McGregor a tongue-lashing.

McGregor and Goddard do have some previous. Walking around the cage side wherever and whenever he wanted.

But Conor wasn't done. he came back, climbed back on top of the cage and straight slapped one of the guards upside the head.

"Viacom and Bellator hold the safety and well-being of our staff in the highest regard and we're now reviewing the situation".

The organization has taken swift action in the past, however.

UFC president Dana White has released fighters in the past for shoving an official.

Three years ago, Jason High was cut completely from the UFC for pushing referee Kevin Mulhall following his TKO loss against Rafael dos Anjos in New Mexico. You don't ever, ever (expletive) touch a referee, ever.

In his fight with Mayweather, McGregor did have some success early on in the bout but critics suggest that Mayweather was simply carrying him in the fight at points.
