In March this year, the 30-year-old was arrested after a fight in St Louis airport and in August he was arrested on a charge of reckless driving.

He said Mill and Minaj laughed at her, thinking she was kidding, and Brinkley said, "No, I'm serious".

Tacopina also said that Brinkley at one point asked Mill to leave his Roc Nation management and return to his former Philadelphia-based manager Charlie Mack, who Tacopina said is a friend of Brinkley's.

Judge Brinkley has a history with Meek Mill, presiding over his case since his 2008 drug and gun case.

The judged spoke about the several chances she had given Mill, but he 'basically just thumbed your nose at this court'.

"But instead of following the recommendations of the prosecutor and probation officer, Brinkley excoriated both of them, challenged their credibility and overrode both law enforcement agencies recommendations and went from zero to two to four years, which shows that she clearly had a personal vendetta against [Mill]", Tacopina said in an interview with Billboard.

The Philadelphia rapper - real name Robert Williams - has been on parole since autumn 2009, following a spell in prison on drugs and weapons charges. "F**king 11 years. Judge gave him two to four years because he got arrested for being on a bike and popping a f**king wheelie".

Along with many on Twitter, JAY-Z and T.I. have also slammed the judge's ruling. The sentence, described by Meek's attorney Joe Tacopina as "unjust", has inspired outrage among fans and fellow artists.

This judge cited him for violating probation from his almost ten-year-old gun and drug case by getting arrested twice this year.

Mill owned up to the violations in his only statement during the hearing and said that jailing him would likely end his musical career.

Meek's mugshot was reportedly taken at the state prison in Graterford, Montgomery County, PA. In 2016, he was placed under house arrest for 90 days after violating travel restrictions.
