Target is putting an end to the all-night shopping bonanza in its stores on Thanksgiving night.

Target Corp. said it will be open on Thanksgiving Day, from 6 midnight, then will reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

The company says their hours this year will give team members a chance to recharge and prepare their stores for "even more holiday savings" on Black Friday. The discount retailer said that some of the deep discounts it will be offering on Black Friday will be available online on Wednesday at for REDcard holders. On Black Friday stores will reopen at 6 a.m.

Penney raised eyebrows two years ago when it made a decision to open as early as 3 p.m., a time when director competitors were closed, raising legitimate questions about who exactly needs to be at J.C. Penney right when tens of millions of Americans are sitting down to table for their Thanksgiving meal.

But some retailers will still pull all-nighters.

Just when you thought "Black Friday creep" had hit its limit, J.C. Penney is doing everyone better. Toys R Us will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will stay open for 40 straight hours.

Target also announced on Monday that shoppers can get early access to Black Friday deals in stores and online for one day - Monday, November 6.
