Daylight saving time: 5 tips for a smoother switch Sunday

Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. on November 5, meaning an extra hour of sleep tonight. Don't worry about your cell phones because they reset themselves.

The main goal, according to proponents, would be to add an extra hour of afternoon daylight in the winter.

Standard Time will continue until March 11, when clocks are set forward an hour and the nation returns to Daylight Saving Time again. While this means an extra hour of sleep, it also means that sunrise and sunset will occur an hour earlier starting with Sunday.

We all have opinions on daylight saving time, though truth to tell, I always need to stop and figure it out a little. It has been reported that MA is now on its way to joining these areas and making changing the clocks a thing of the past. That means there will be more light in the morning with darkness coming earlier in the afternoon. Apparently, New Zealander George Vernon Hudson proposed the idea of daylight saving in the year 1895.

Whether the method is dealing with it before falling asleep or after waking up, just know that when the clock strikes 2 a.m. Sunday that it will officially be 1 a.m.

"Indirect evidence of an increase in traffic accident rates, and change in health and regulatory behaviors which may be related to sleep disruption suggest that adjustment to daylight saving time is neither immediate nor without outcome".

What countries follow Daylight Saving Time? Set clocks ahead one hour.

But some people may argue that Daylight Saving Time is necessary and makes sense.

Neither China nor Japan observe DLS.
