Markelle Fultz ruled out indefinitely with shoulder injury

Fultz visited with several shoulder specialists and was found to be suffering from a scapular muscle imbalance in the right shoulder. Fultz will be re-evaluated by Dr. Kleber in three weeks, making his earliest possible return date November 20 against the Utah Jazz. Ben Kleber who serves as Medical Director of the Shoulder Center of Kentucky at the Lexington Clinic.

The team announced Sunday that Markelle Fultz - the overall No. 1 pick in last June's draft - is out indefinitely with a right shoulder injury.

There is no "structural impairment" in Fultz's shoulder, and he will continue physiotherapy treatment, the team said.

Fultz was initially ruled out for just three games as of Wednesday, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. He did not attempt a 3-pointer and was 6 of 12 from the foul line.

Fultz has been hampered by his shoulder all season.

Add to that, the visible issue with Fultz's shot.

Markelle Fultz will take more time before he returns to the court. Both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid missed entire seasons, although both have been health and performing at extremely high levels so far this season.

If you've been clinging to Fultz in a re-draft league, this is your cue to cut him for a healthy player.

Fultz has appeared in four games this season, all off the bench.
