Led by Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda, the concert was called Linkin Park Celebrates Life in Honour of Chester Bennington. Since his death, tributes have been held around the world as fans came together to remember the singer, who was one of the most influential rock musicians of the 21st century.

Members of No Doubt, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41, Bush and Yellowcard all performed at the show with the five surviving members of Linkin Park. More information as to what the initiative will do, Bennington said, will be coming "soon". Artists including Metallica, Paul McCartney and Jared Leto also recorded video messages for Chester.

The three-hour concert took place on October 27 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and was live streamed on YouTube.

"I don't know what's gonna happen with this song", he said.

All performers donated their fees to Linkin Park's charity Music for Relief's fundraiser programme One More Light Fund.

Bennington's wife spoke about her late husband at the show, saying he "would have loved all of this".

Throughout the show, Linkin Park played old videos of Bennington, showing his sense of humor and passion for music.

Before Linkin Park returned for an encore, Chester's widow Talinda gave a speech thanking the fans, and advocated for mental health awareness and resources.
