Kerala student jumps from school building allegedly after scolding by teachers, dies

A class 10 girl student from Kollam, who jumped off from the top of her school building on Friday, succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning.

Gauri was a student at Trinity Lyceum school at Thanagassery in Kollam, and was allegedly chided by her teachers after she had a fight with her sister's classmate, reported TheNewsMinute. Her sister studies in Class 8 in the same school. She has been identified as Gauri Neha of Ramankulangara in Kollam.

It turned into clashes when the protesters started pelting stones at the school building after breaking the barricades. Family Members Alleged that 13-year-old girl's uncle had alleged that the teachers did not even allow her to have lunch. She had questioned the School Managment about this punishment and got into an argument with the class teacher.


She was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition.

The victim was undergoing treatment at a specialty hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after jumping from the building.

The Kollam West Police have registered a case against the two teachers on the basis of a complaint by the girl's father. The investigation is on, a senior police officer said.According to a PTI report, several students' outfits staged protests here against the school management over the incident.
