On November 10th, DOOM officially arrives for Nintendo's portable console.

Nintendo is also commemorating the occasion with an interview with ID Software.

Doom has been given a November 10 release date on Nintendo Switch, which is just a couple of weeks after the launch of Super Mario Odyssey.

As many may know, 2016's Doom is heading to the Nintendo Switch. "Our mantra when we were developing it was to remove really all the barriers between the player and the combat", Martin explains in the interview. If people want to slay demons or kill Nazis on Switch, they'll have to open their wallet as a sign of encouragement. "In bringing it to the Switch, we worked with a developer called Panic Button that has a lot of experience with Nintendo hardware", Stratton says. They're the same studio responsible for ports of games like Rocket League and Octodad. For Doom, it appears that the 60 frames per second dream will remain just that: a dream.

That said, it's clear from the screenshots that the visuals have taken an understandable slight hit and the game will be locked at 30 FPS on Switch.

Will you be picking up Doomon the Nintendo Switch?

Feature-wise, the Switch version of Doom figures to retain most of the modes and mayhem that made the base game one of last year's greatest action experiences. Rest assured the single-player campaign will fit snugly on the Switch's 16 GB cartridge, but the online multiplayer mode will have to be downloaded separately in a 9 GB file - free of charge from the Switch eShop, of course. It's previously been released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
