This is a feature that is supposed to enable Google Pixel and Nexus users share their screens, something that should be handy when trying to help your mom solve a problem on her phone while you are away. But with 30 seconds of work and an Android phone, you can pretend like you've got Google's newest flagship, thanks to the release of the Pixel 2 default launcher.

However, Google did say that the photos/videos uploaded in original quality by Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners before January 15, 2021 will still be accessible to them in original quality after this date. Additionally, the option for Face Retouching and maybe even Portrait Mode should be there.

That's right, the new Google Camera app has already been cracked. Just download the APK and install it on your handset.

Aside from this full integration, Google Duo might also get a new screen sharing feature in a future update. A major player is the Google Assistant, which expands across numerous devices and allows users to control hardware and services with voice commands.

The announcement led to confusion among the owners of last year's Pixel and Pixel XL, who were also promised unlimited free storage of original-quality photos and videos in Google Photo.

The only new area in the launcher settings is the At A Glace widget.

Although this feature was part of the original app available on Pixel devices but it required you to press and hold the empty space on the screen after adjusting the exposure of the shot. It now exists in the hamburger menu on the top left side of the interface. The latter can also be turned off as of the Google Camera version 5.1, whereas the volume key feature may end up moving again depending on user feedback seeing how not everyone will think of the functionality as a "gesture".
