MORE: Harvey Weinstein accused of sexual harassment in 2008 by former screenwriterBeckinsale continued, adding that she said "no to him professionally many times over the years".

'Everything I do in my life I do for this girl (and her brother),' the mother-of-two wrote.

"It's not like they're going to talk to everyone Weinstein has ever talked to", one law-enforcement said.

Some 30 women - including actresses Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd and Gwyneth Paltrow - told The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine for recent stories that Weinstein had sexually harassed or sexually assaulted them. "She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get", the Goop founder said. "After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed", Beckinsale said in her post.

"We really did what I think the law obligates us to do - focus on the evidence and the facts that we had", Vance said Wednesday.

The encounter, which she said occurred after Weinstein hired her for the lead role in Emma, allegedly ended with him placing his hands on her and suggesting a massage. Male actors, including James Van Der Beek and Terry Crews, have also tweeted about their experiences and why victims often feel powerless to come forward. The actress said a few years later, Weinstein asked her if he had "tried anything" with her in that first meeting at the Savoy.

An avalanche of claims of sexual harassment, assault and rape by the hugely influential Hollywood producer have surfaced since the publication last week of an explosive New York Times report alleging a history of abusive behavior dating back decades.

On Sunday, Weinstein was removed from his powerhouse film studio in the wake of the mounting allegations.

Seth MacFarlane has also come out to explain the story behind a joke he made at Weinstein's expense during the announcement of Academy Award nominations.

"In case you didn't realize, it has been a huge week for women", the "Full Frontal" host said at the top of the show.

"Guys, I'm not doing OK, but I'm trying", Weinstein told reporters on Wednesday as he entered an SUV parked outside his daughter's Los Angeles home. Prime Minister Theresa May says a decision about the honour would not lie with Downing Street. You know what, we all make mistakes.

She explained that the producer, with whom she has worked on several movies, has never harmed her.

Soon after, Bob Weinstein and three other members of the rapidly dwindling board issued a statement saying that new allegations of extreme sexual misconduct and sexual assault had come as "an utter surprise" and that any "suggestion that the Board had knowledge of this conduct is false".

"Our thoughts go out to the victims, to those who have had the courage to testify and to all the others", Fremaux and Lescure said.
