The information you see there will be provided by Snapchat partners like FourSquare, TripAdvisor, and Michelin.

And the firm is confident that as it learns more about how to improve Context Cards, it will be adding more partners and additional information.

Additionally, some locations will have Snapchat Stories integrated directly into the context cards, meaning users can view photos or videos submitted by other users from locations that you're thinking of visiting yourself. (The financial arrangements of these partnerships have not been disclosed.) You can also use Context Cards to check out more public snaps from the same area. It will also factor in more personalized features, like which ride-haling app you use (if you don't have Uber installed, Snapchat will show links to Lyft).

To find context cards, swipe up on any Snaps that says "more" at the bottom.

Millions of Snapchat users, particularly in the USA and Europe region, were left outraged after the addictive photo-sharing app crashed briefly on Monday night.

The new feature is aimed at increasing the time a user spends on the app by providing contextual location-based search, potentially helping the company to get more advertising dollars.

The update will be available for iOS and Android users of the app in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

The Context Cards will always show you have most relevant information first.

Over 77% of Snapchatter in the United Kingdom are over 18, 43% of this is made of parents.

For Snapchat users who are 25 years-old and younger this rises to 40 minutes a day. The outage reportedly took place late on Monday but Snapchat admitted to the issue on Tuesday, which means millions of users could have been left frustrated for hours together.
