Premier League outfit Liverpool have today been rocked with awful news, after tests revealed that Sadio Mane is set for around six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

He scored 13 Premier League goals last season despite missing the whole of January due to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old Mane has already missed three matches this term after being shown a straight red card for catching Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson with a high boot in last month's fixture.

The Senegal global scored 13 goals and laid on a further right in just 29 appearances for the Reds in 2015/16, with his absence at the end of the season hampering his side's fluency.

In the 15 games overall that he has been absent for, they have only won six.

Liverpool are seventh in the Premier League with 12 points from their first seven matches and have drawn their first two Champions League games.

Mane will not only miss Saturday's crucial showdown with Manchester United but he'll also sit out further league games against Tottenham, Huddersfield, West Ham and Southampton.

Mane will miss the visit of United on Saturday as the Premier League returns following the worldwide break, plus a number of other potentially crucial encounters, including the trip to Tottenham on October 22.
